Renowned security consultant, Dr. Ody Ajike has applauded the verdict of the Abia State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal which struck out the petitions filed by the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Okey Ahiwe, and that of Ikechi Emenike of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and upheld the election of Governor Alex Otti.
In a statement he personally signed on Monday in Abuja, Ajike, said the rulings were predicated on fairness and objectivity on the point of law.
Ajike, in the statement, lauded the tribunal judges for treating the petitions on their merits, saying the verdict was a watershed and point of reference, even as he called on other political parties to join hands with Governor Otti to develop the state.
Ajike also called on Ahiwe and Emenike to discontinue their plan to approach the appellate court for further litigation.
“I implore Ahiwe and Emenike to immediately join hands with Governor Alex Chioma Otti to build Abia State for the betterment of all.
“Finally, I congratulate Governor Alex Chioma Otti for the victory, and urge him to continue to demonstrate good leadership in Abia State and remain focused on transforming the State,” the statement added.
