A former governorship aspirant of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in Abia State, Etigwe Uwa (SAN), has commended Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, for improved development in the state in just a few months that he has been in office.

In a chat with THE WHISPERER on Friday evening, the legal luminary said: “Governor Alex Otti from his actions in the last 100 days has set the tone and proper example of what good and responsible governance should be like.

“From the quality of his appointments, renewed hope in the public service through the excision of ghosts employed by leeching vampires to drain state resources, the prompt commencement of infrastructural renewal, he leaves no one in doubt that we are at the dawn of a new era of serious commitment to public service and the common good. The expectations are very high and he has started well. We hope the bold strides would be sustained.”

Otti, flag bearer of the Labour Party (LP), in the gubernatorial election, was sworn in as Abia governor in May 29, after he polled 175,467 votes to defeat Okey Ahiwe, his closest rival and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who scored 88,529 votes.

Speaking at the 32nd Abia Day celebration on Tuesday, Otti said the past administrations ruined the state.

“But I tell you today, this is a new Abia of our collective dreams,” he had said.

“We are only a few days to our 100 days in office and you can see for yourselves that Abia has started moving. Together, we shall get to our destination. All I need is your individual support.”
