Former President Buhari departs Eagle square to Daura

The immediate past president of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, has departed the Eagle Square, venue of the presidential inauguration, for his Daura hometown in Katsina State.

Mr Buhari departed the venue at 11:02 shortly after handing over to his successor, Bola Tinubu.

THE WHISPERER reports that Mr Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima were administered the oath of office and allegiance by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Kayode Ariwoola.

Before entering his car, Mr Buhari was seen waving to his supporters in the venue.

It was gathered that the president would be heading to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, where he would be airlifted to Katsina State.
