Ahead of the May 29 swearing-in ceremony of the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Mr Peter Mbah, Oil and Gas expert, Chief Chief Kalu Idika Okwara, has called on the people of Enugu State to give maximum support to the incoming Governor.
Idika Okwara, an advocate of inspirational and people-oriented government noted that Mbah has garnered the necessary leadership experience to lead Enugu state to prosperity.
Addressing journalists on Saturday at Akanu Ibiam International Airport Enugu, Chief Kalu Idika Okwara congratulated Mbah over the governorship election victory, urging the people of Enugu State to rally round Mbah.
He explained that the people of Enugu State voted for personalities over party affiliations, saying: “Mr Peter Mbah is someone loved by all irrespective of party affiliations. That was why he was massively voted for. I’m using this opportunity to congratulate him — and also urge the people of Enugu State to support him to succeed. He needs the support of everyone to succeed and make Enugu a better place.”
He said he was proud to have joined other well-meaning Nigerians and people of Enugu State to support the PDP candidate to win the election.
“I believe that power belongs to God. Even if a man wants to stop you, he can’t succeed except God allows him to do so. I am happy that some of the people I supported won their elections.
“I urge you all to give maximum support to the incoming government of Enugu State led by my good friend, Mr Peter Mbah. He has the capacity, vision and managerial experience to pilot the affairs of Enugu State,” he said.
