Presbyterian Prelate Emeritus, Most Rev Nzie Nsi Eke Commiserates With Sen. Orji Kalu Over Wife’s Death

The immediate past Prelate and General Assembly Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Most Rev. Nzie Nsi Eke has expressed shock over the death of Dr. Mrs Ifeoma Ada, the first wife of the Chief Whip of the Nigerian Senate and former Governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.

Eke further stated that he was saddened by the news of the death of the former Abia State First Lady.

Senator Orji Kalu had in a statement on Monday announced the passing on of his first wife.

In a statement he personally signed, Kalu said, “With a heavy heart and pain, we announce the passing on to eternal glory of Mrs Ifeoma Ada Kalu, aged 61 years.

“She was a woman of virtue who was committed to the service of God and humanity.”

Kalu added, “A memorial service in her honour is scheduled to hold in the United States of America. Please remember her and her loved ones in prayers at this difficult period. May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Amen.”

Eke in a statement described the death as shocking and tragic and prayed to Almighty God to comfort the Senator and his entire family.

Eke said, “I condole with Senator Orji Uzor Kalu over the tragic and untimely death of his wife, Mrs Ifeoma Ada Kalu. It came to me with a rude shock but we must accept the will of God Almighty.

“We further take consolation in the fact that Mrs Kalu lived a virtuous life invested in the service of God and humanity.

“I extend my heartfelt condolences to Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and pray that God will grant him and his family the fortitude to bear the great loss,” Eke said.
