Chief Joe Kalu Ibe Congratulates Otti, Emetu, Osonwa, Nwoke; Tells Abians To Rally Round New Leaders

The President of Ndi Ibe Ohafia Development Union (NDU) Abuja Branch, Chief Joe Kalu Ibe has congratulated Abia governor-elect, Dr. Alex Otti and his deputy, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu on their victory in the March 18 gubernatorial election in the state.

Chief Ibe in a statement personally signed by him in Abuja on Saturday also congratulated the House of Representatives member-elect for Arochukwu Ohafia Federal Constituency, Chief Ibe Okwara Osonwa and the House of Assembly member-elect for Ohafia South State Constituency, Chief Kalu Mba Nwoke (Etiokwe).

He stated that all hands must be on deck for the peaceful coexistence and development of Abia state to greater heights in all spheres of life.

He thanked the good people of Abia state for ensuring peace before, during and after the elections, saying that the governor-elect needs the support of all to achieve the desired result.

He also called on other political parties in the state to rally round the incoming government to ensure rapid development in Abia state and ensure peace is sustained for people to go about their normal lives.

While encouraging those elected to see their victories as an enormous privilege, he urged them to see it as an honour to be entrusted with leadership by the people.

“I urge them to be energised by the massive support and overwhelming vote of confidence reposed on them by the electorate and to reciprocate this ringing expression of the people’s will by implementing all the promises and commitments made to the people in the course of the electioneering campaigns.

“They must draw on the experiences and lessons of their predecessors to set the priorities of the government, communicate the goals and outcomes of policies and programmes, and pursue them with a relentless zeal that will better serve Abians” he said.
