The House of Representatives member-elect for Arochukwu Ohafia Federal Constituency, Chief Ibe Okwara Osonwa, has congratulated the Abia State governor-elect, Dr. Alex Otti.
He expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the governorship election in the state, saying that Abia will be restored through Otti’s leadership.
Osonwa, in a statement he personally issued, noted that the emergence of the governor-elect and his deputy was an opportunity for the two leaders to restore the glory of Abia State, promising to work closely with them.
He stated, “Your Excellency, Dr Alex Otti Ofr and Deputy Governor- Elect Engr Ikechukwu Emetu.
Please accept my warm congratulations on your victory and my best wishes for your success as we prepare to take up the huge responsibilities and challenges to restore Abia state.
“God indeed has answered the prayers of the people.
Although the task ahead is overwhelming, but I am confident that by the grace of God Abia will be restored through your leadership.
“I look forward to working closely with you for the greater good of our dear State.
“Congratulations to the people of Abia state, this victory is for us all. It is a new dawn.
“To God be the glory.”
He enjoined other candidates of the various political parties that contested the March 18 gubernatorial election in the state to demonstrate the spirit of sportsmanship by accepting the outcome of the election and join hands with the governor-elect, Dr. Alex Otti for the restoration of peace, unity and societal development in the state.
He further appealed to the people of Abia to embrace peace and eschew politics of bitterness, adding that Dr. Alex Otti possessed the capacity and passion of ensuring peace, unity, progress for a better Abia State.
