Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State and the Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, have met behind closed doors in Abuja.
The closed door meeting took place on Tuesday afternoon at the Abuja residence of Mr Bello.
Although reason for the meeting could not be ascertained as at the time of filing this report, it was gathered that the meeting was part of Kalu’s consultations ahead of the inauguration of the 10th Senate.
Kalu, representing Abia North Senatorial District was on the 25th of February re-elected to represent Abia North in the 10th Senate.
It is believed that the former Abia State Governor is lobbying to be elected President of the 10th Senate.
The meeting was also confirmed by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Bello, Onogwu Muhammad on Tuesday evening.
Onogwu Muhammad wrote: “Kogi State Governor, His Excellency Yahaya Bello receives former Governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu on Tuesday in Abuja.
“The Governor and the Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District had a brief private discussion during the visit.”
