Following court orders and the deaths of some candidates for the forthcoming general election, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released an updated list of the governorship, senatorial and House of Representatives candidates of the various political parties that will participate in the elections.
According to the updated list obtained by THE WHISPERER from the commission, Chief Ibe Okwara Osonwa is the House of Representatives candidate of the Labour Party for Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency due to a court order.
Osonwa in a statement signed by him and made available to newsmen said: “I am pleased for the release of this amended list because the confusion caused by the circulation of the old list from September 30th 2022 by those that sought to keep me off the list and those not willing to allow our people go to the polls to exercise the constitutional franchise.
Their plan was to cause fear and disenfranchisement LP’s supporters as they gear up talk with their votes.”
