HISTORIC INAUGURATION OF AROHAFIA ROUNDTABLE AS A BRIDGE FOR BUILDING SOCIOPOLITICAL, SOCIOECONOMIC AND SOCIOCULTURAL INTEGRATION AMONG THE GOOD PEOPLES OF AROCHUKWU AND OHAFIA ANCIENT CLANS.
History was made today, the 3rd day of January, 2023 when concerned political elites from the two local governments that make up the Arochukwu and Ohafia federal constituency gathered in the country home of Engr. Odo Ijere in Akanu Ohafia to inaugurate the newly birthed AROHAFIA ROUNDTABLE to begin the process of building bridges of sociopolitical, sociocultural and socioeconomic integration of the various clans that make up the Arochukwu and Ohafia bloc.
The sociocultural and political group itself, AROHAFIA ROUNDTABLE was a creation of idealists and revisionists led by Engr. Odo Ijere and Arch. Lucas Eme Uche Onu and others to reignite and trigger a new drive to reposition and bring back the spark in the zone that led other zones in pre independence founding of the Nigerian state.
The zone that produced such eminent sages like Dr. Alvan Ikoku, and son Mazi S.G Ikoku, Professor Eni Njoku, Professor Eme Awa, Dr. Kalu Ezera, Chief Nnana Kalu and later, Dr Nwakamma Okoro, Dr. Torti Ufere Torti, Chief Ojo Maduekwe etal should not have problems dictating political leadership in a small haven like today’s Abia state. But the reverse is the case. Therefore AROHAFIA ROUNDTABLE, a multiparty orchestra is stepping in to lead the orchestration of the corrigendum of change mantra.
The job of performing this historic inauguration fell into the waiting hands of the Deputy Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt.Honourable Ifeanyi Uchendu who praised the initiative of uniting the various clans of the federal constituency into a regional economic bloc to accelerate development of the area. He further pledged to deepen the process of integrating the two LGAs in the federal constituency to achieve more dividend of democracy if elected into the Federal House of Representatives in the forthcoming elections.
Eminent personalities and change agents from Arochukwu and Ohafia gathered to make this inauguration possible.
