Ahead of the 2023 gubernatorial election in Abia State, Paul Nwogu, chieftain of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has passed a vote of no confidence on the gubernatorial candidate of the party in Abia State, Prof. Greg Ibe, insisting that he lacked capacity to win the state for APGA.
Nwogu maintained that Ibe did not have the requisite competence to mobilise and unite the party, pointing that being a Pro-Chancellor of a Private University shouldn’t be a yardstick to measure his competence to lead the state.
The APGA chieftain stated this in an interview with journalists on Friday at the National Secretariat of the party in Abuja.
He said, “Greg Ibe being a former PDP member who supported the Ikpeazu-led PDP administration is struggling to convince Abians who are desirous of something new in the state.”
He insisted that the current electoral act as amended won’t favour Ibe, urging him to voluntarily write his letter of withdrawal from the poll citing the numerous court cases against him.
