A group under the aegis of Abia North Political Projects (ANPP), has intensified the campaign for the next governor of the state to come from Abia North senatorial zone, arguing that it was the only way to ensure equity and sustain the peaceful coexistence in the state.
The group in a press statement signed by its Director General, Dr. Uduma Nnate urged political stakeholders in the state to support the zone retain power in 2023 for fairness and equity.

RE- ONGOING MEETINGS OF ABIA STATE ELDERS WITH OKEZIE VICTOR IKPEAZU Ph.D, EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF ABIA STATE.
We have been fully briefed about the above ongoing meetings and more coming which sole agenda is to decide the zone that will produce the next Governor of Abia State in 2023.
We the ABIA NORTH POLITICAL PROJECTS 2023 group wish to state as follows:
1. The elders that will be invited for the meeting should be equally spread along the 3 Senatorial zones of Abia State for fairness and even representation.
2. The opinion making round in PDP that Abia North is predominantly APC and therefore should not be given PDP Governorship ticket holds no water and makes no Political sense when equity and fairness is to be considered. Fairness and Equity was the reason General Obasanjo was given PDP Presidential ticket when the entire South West was AD. The same equity and fairness is the reason South East is projecting Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa and Senator Pius Anyim for Presidency even when PDP is not majority in South Eastern Zone.
3. We hereby call on the Father of Equity in Abia State, Senator T. A. Orji, to remind our elders of the dangers of crossing and destroying ancient boundaries.
Equity and fairness will always prevail in any society that loves peace and unity knowing fully well the price of anarchy and chaos.
Finally, any attempt to upturn the rotational charter of Equity as arranged by our founding fathers which we have been following till today, will not go down well. Infact, the souls of our founding fathers like Late Patriarch Anagha Ezikpe will not find rest and would hunt the perpetrators.
The Abia North Political Projects 2023 group is watching the unfolding of events in the state. We remain resolute that it is not only our turn to produce the next Governor of Abia State but parades the best in terms of capacity, knowledge, experience and understanding to move Abia State to it’s pride of place amongst Comity of States.
We are passionate about this and no amount of intimidation can compromise our stand.
