Ndi Ibe Development Union Abuja Branch Doles Out Cash, Wrappers, Rice, Others to Widows At End Of The Party
The leadership of Ndi Ibe Ohafia Development Union (NDU), Abuja Branch, today, presented cash, wrappers, bags of rice, uniform to women and members of the union who are widows.
The event which was held at the residence of Chief Kalu Idika Okwara was part of the activities to mark this year’s end of the year party.
Handing the cash gifts over to the beneficiaries, Chief Joe Kalu Ibe, who is the Chapter President, explained that the gesture was to encourage and support the widows which is one of the core objectives of the union.
Also speaking, the vice president, Elder Bright Okpo Idika, noted that the association will continue to promote love, unity and progress through its social welfare programmes.
He noted that widows, vulnerable, youths in the union constantly needed support to live out desired lives, hence the decision of the union to give attention to the plight of the widows.
Highlight of the occasion witnessed further financial gifts from the host Chief Kalu Idika Okwara to the widows, while Barr. Nwanneka Ekweremadu-Okoro shared wrappers, bags of rice to members.
The widows appreciated the union and prayed God continue to sustain the group.
