Prominent lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Etigwe Uwa has called on Abians to work in unison to build a better State that its founding fathers would be proud of as the state celebrates its 30 years of creation by former Military President, General Ibrahim Babangida.

Uwa, in a congratulatory message to Abians, said the state is well endowned with human and natural resources which if well harnessed would better the economic wellbeing of Abians. He called on well meaning Abians to come together and harness these resources for the development of the state.

He implored Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to give ear to the yearnings of Abians, while asking stakeholders of the state, leaders and past leaders to build a synergy for the overall development of the state.

Uwa, who is the Chairman of solar power provider, Lumos Nigeria as well as NOI Polls Limited gave thanks to God for His faithfulness which saw the state through the ravaging effects of COVID-19 pandemic. He also thanked God for preserving the state from the rampaging activities of the ‘unknown gunmen’ phenomenon which had instilled fear among the citizens of the state and had almost grounded economic activities in the state.

In his words: “I appeal to all Abians including those in diaspora to come together for the development of our state. For we can only become a prosperous state if we are united in  vision for the development of the state rather than the squandering of our common patrimony.

“We must unite to collectively build the Abia of our dreams that our founding fathers would be proud of. It is not enough to sit on the fence and criticize those in government. The development of the state is not a task for the government alone. It is time for all stakeholders to come together and move Abia forward.

“On behalf of my family, supporters and loved ones, I congratulate Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, leaders of the state and all Abians on this auspicious day of our anniversary, urging them to do more for the rapid growth and development of our dear state.”
