Abuja Court arraigns Buhari over 7.5m fraud

A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory presided over by Justice Halilu Yusuf, has arraigned one Mohammed Buhari, for falsely selling and receiving N7.5million for a parcel of land.

Buhari was arraigned on a one-count charge on Thursday over the collection of money under false pretense in respect to land.

After taking his plea, counsel for the defendant, Chukwudi Oli informed the court of his client’s bail application.

Reacting, Aishatu Ibrahim, counsel for the complainant raised an objection, informing the court that she was served with the bail application inside the court.

The complainant’s lawyer told the court that she will join issues with the defense lawyer over the bail application.

Ruling on the bail application the presiding judge, Justice Halilu Yusuf remanded the defendant in Suleja prison pending the hearing of the bail application on October 5.
