Mr. President literarily admitted that he deliberately banned Twitter to make communication difficult in case of any attempt to repeat “ENDSARS”. Perhaps, the Attorney General should now inform him that Nigerians are back on twitter.

With rapt attention I keenly listened to General Buhari’s interviews, all i saw was a man whose haughtiness and arrogance deprived the opportunity to conscientize with his people.

I saw a man who is aware of the total disenchantment across the length and breath of the country caused by hardship, pain, anger, hunger and killings as occasioned by his administration, but lacks compassion.

I saw a man who is neither sympathetic nor empathetic to the victims of the ongoing carnage in the once most peaceful and happy Country in Africa.

General Buhari’s threat language and body posture is akin to an emperor who cowardly set out to war against his own people, having failed to defend them against their enemy. Yes I saw in him the Mythological King Agamemnon of Mycenae who would come home to brag about his Trojan captives while his army Commander (Achillies) fiercely struggled with his footsoldiers at the battle field to defend his country.

The June 9th Arise Television interview was expected to console, palliate and encourage the people from the agony experienced in different quoters but, regrettably he used the time like Rehoboam (1King12 : 11) to inform Nigerians that their yoke is going to be heavier if they don’t behave their selves.

Yes, I expected to hear from my President that the ill fated suicide bomber whose attempt to bomb my people in Amamgbala in Afikpo North was truncated by God himself, will not have his brother repeat same journey. Yes I expected him to assure the people of Isi, Ezza, in Ebonyi State and the entire Southern Nigeria who have lost scores of souls that there will be no more killings of their people by bandits, herdsmen, gunmen (whether Known or Unknown). Yes I was so eager to hear that I can now travel to any of the Northern state, live, work and do my business without fear of kidnap or attack by criminals. Sadly, my dear President is bereft of such words hence he cannot give what he doesn’t have.

What offence did we actually commit against a man we voted to office so that he may give us protection in return, being a simple social contract. I cannot understand how Mr. President will pay ransom to bandit in the north and turn around to the South to threaten harmless innocent citizens just for demanding good governance.

The General is obviously ENDSARS Phobic and consequently decided to apply the ecclesiastical approach of attacking our communication just like God did against the people of Babel who planned and set out to build a tower to meet him in heaven. ( Genesis 11:4. ). My president has failed in this bid because, the people’s genuine demand cannot be quenched.

Mr. President literarily admitted that he deliberately banned Twitter to make communication difficult in case of any attempt to repeat “ENDSARS”. Perhaps, the Attorney General should now inform him that Nigerians are back on twitter.

It remains an insult on the sensibilities of Nigerians to celebrate democracy in an absolute totalitarian, autocratic, dictatorial and oligarchic regime.
