OPINION: Uko Nkole: The Abaji, Abam Knows! Part 2, (ROADS AND BRIDGES IN FOCUS)

Prior to the election of Hon. Uko Nkole into the house of representatives, travelling to Abam through the Umuahia-Bende route was a drastic nightmare for drivers, during the dry season it was a bumpy and dusty ride roughly an estimated journey of 3hrs, while in the raining season it was completely in-motorable. Drivers who are mostly Ohafia indigenes always breeze past the road, for Uzuakoli route.

Also prior to the election of Hon. Uko Nkole into the green chambers, there was no vehicular access into ndi ebe Abam due to the collapse of the bridge sometime around 2013.

The Atan Abam Bailey bridge linking Abam to her rice fields, timber logging forests ,Akwaibom State neighbors among others was not motorable to not only articulated vehicles required to evacuate the woods and rice grains and other bulky food harvest and also other commuter vehicles posing a great threat to the economy of the both Abam indigenes and non Abams indigenes that use the route.

The Afagala bridge that linked the Idima Abam people to their cocoa plantations among others suffered same transportation challenges. Now this scenario has changed for better , the people of Abam have indeed witnessed the transformation and removal of the transportation impediments poised by the bottle necks at Ajata Ibeku section crippled by landslide ,the Ochendo housing estate, the Cocoa research and the Bende forest reserve Amanwaudele Amake Abam all these Sections leading to Abam and Ohafia with the Nmuri bridge poised a serious bottle neck to the predominant Abam commuters .

Yet they said Hon Nkole charity begun outside.

I wonder if not for his eyes for details by calling on the relevant Federal government agencies to intervene one would have imagined the situation today .

Yet these armchair politicians and pull him down critics never appreciated the importance of the impact of his interventions on these critical infrastructure that changed the narratives since 2016 and till date work is still ongoing unabated on route F107.

While my personal checks from the 2021 FGN budget has proven that the road has turned into a beehive of construction and rehabilitation activities as all failed portion has been reinstated and reinforced while the contract for the overall reconstruction of the entire route has been awarded .

While travel time as today between Umuahia and Abam on that route has drastically reduced to about 30mins with improved comfort all seasons.

The road today is the popular and preferred route to Ohafia from Umuahia vis versa with it’s economic value added to the nodal communities of Abam.

I can vividly recall how the narrative on every Abamite lips was the collapsed Ndi Ebebe Abam Bridge, a bridge that collapsed before the election of Hon. Nkole into the House of Representatives whereas Ndiebe Abam was cut off from civilization and everyone cried a blue murder with it’s attendant consequences to both the living and the death for both indigenes and visitors alike.

Again, the story has changed yet the witchcrafts and sponsored hirelings parading themselves as Abam voices cannot appreciate the efforts of their own brother who has made sure their suffering was reversed for good.

It is pertinent to note that all these witchcrafts had persons of their choices that the assiduously supported get elected into various levels of governance when this bridge collapsed and also these bridges were built in the colonial era, they never approached nor shouted on top of their voices to seek for the reconstruction nor rehabilitation of it .
Even when they did including making the respective affected villagers contribute all manner of gifts to get the attention of such reps in government , yet nothing good came out of it.

Now that the narratives have changed for good, these unscrupulous elements with strong diabolical tendencies want to bewitch the efforts of the man that remembered our sufferings, HOLY GHOST FIRE!.

Atan Abam bridge today has been reinstated and vehicular access restored same as Afagala Idima bridge yet they are propagating propaganda that Hon Nkole abandoned Abam and is doing nothing .

I have been waiting for a list of human capital development empowerment given to Abam Sons and also projects both executed/abandoned in Abam by previous House of Representatives members from Abam and from other sister clans to enable me evaluate if Hon Nkole has been found wanting .

These includes other levels of elected and appointed Representatives in government, I would like to see the list of their achievements since 1979 till date.

For sure I understand we need a lot for our people but perhaps not at the detriment of other stakeholders, under Hon. Nkole it is sad that our people, the so called educated ones can resort to clannish bigotry and the Hon. Nkole I know is smart enough and well exposed to fall into such trap being set by these witchcrafts and Abam emergency voices that cannot give the next neighbor water to drink.

Before those who recently drove into Abam, including political opportunist and those who recently returned from abroad starts recruiting but sadly known media urchins of Prince Dan Kalu the Serving Council Chairman Of Arochukwu LGA to propagate HATE against Hon. Uko Nkole, they should first of all, thank him for his efforts towards making their journey a smooth one.

Least we forget when you sell your brother your buyers will also be afraid of you the seller.

I am patiently Waiting for the reply and soon I will personally start an X-ray of all the activities of our people in Government both past and present let me see if we have anyone that matches the antecedents of Hon Uko Ndukwe Nkole (Mr Projects).
