The leading aspirant of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the November 6 Governorship election in Anambra State, Engr Chris Azubogu, says that Ihiala Local Government Area (LGA) harbours the key ingredients for the industrialization of the State.
Engr Chris Azubogu made the statement in Ihiala LGA when he visited the LGA yesterday, February 1, to notify his party, PDP of his intention to contest for the governor of Anambra State.
Azubogu who is a member of the House of Representatives also stated that the 2021 Governorship election is not just about an election, but a call for us to drive a new development strategy for the State with a focus on Industrialization.
According to Azubogu, who is a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, “the Faculty of Engineering and Sciences of our State University that is within Ihiala LGA will be structured to lead research and skill development for our industrialization quest as a State. Ulasi Basin is also key to the maritime and agro-economic potentials of the State which we are going to explore if elected as the Governor.
“You will also agree with me that Ihiala LGA and indeed entire Local Government Areas of the State have the needed investors when we talk about investing in the Industrial development plans for the State through the Domestic Direct Investment (DDI) window which we must pay attention to in synergy with Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) drive.”
Engr Azubogu will also today continue his tour of LGAs in Anambra State to notify them of his intention to contest for the Governorship of the State in what he tagged ‘Conversation on the Future of Anambra State Development.’
