Democracy Observer General of Nigeria and Global President of One Love Foundation, Chief Patriot Patrick Osagie Eholor(Ultimate Equals) has urged President Muhammadu Buhari and his advisers not to play with the emotions of over 200 million Nigerians with the signing of a bill seeking to jail violators of covid-19 protocols for six months.
Eholor said such move by the President is insensitive, reckless, clueless and anti-people considering the high level of poverty and hunger in the land.
He wondered why the nation was in a hurry to sign such a bill when Nigerians are already tired of seeing the faces of those who looted the nation dry leaving them in penury and depressed.
He urged the President not to intimidate Nigerians with the bills and make life more meaningful for all by securing the nation first and make production of food available to all.
“The last time, the President increased the price of petrol and told Nigerians that it was sold at a higher price in Saudi Arabia; I think that was disrespectful and heartbreaking. Saudi Arabians are living in a paradise with everything available for their citizens. In Nigeria, we pay for everything and yet we don’t get or even see them. Our roads are bad; there’s no electricity, hospitals are nonexistent, education is zero and our institutions are not working. Nothing seems to be working in Nigeria except corruption, nepotism, selfishness, religious and tribal sentiments. The President should be worried about these issues and not to bother jailing Nigerians for violating covid-19 rules.”
The Social Crusader also challenged the President to compare his performance in managing the pandemic like the Canadian and US governments who offered incentives and palliative to their citizens to make their life more meaningful.
“I expected the President to compare his achievement during the covid-19 era with what his counterparts did in USA and Canada. I’m sure he’s aware that they didn’t segregate any region or religion in handling the cases. They didn’t favor any zone by giving them and abandoning the others like what we saw the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs doing.”
“Nigerians cannot sit at home and watch the government destroy them. The people will continue to work very hard to earn a living. So, nobody can intimidate Nigerians. If you want to do so, pay them like the Canadian and US government did for her people.”
The Bini-born Crusader also advised Nigerians to continue to be law abiding by obeying relevant Covid-19 protocols by observing social distancing and regular of washing of their hands with soap and clean water as he opined that coronavirus was real.
