Ohafia think tank group, Mben Political Assembly (MPA), has commiserated with the people of Ngwaland, the royal family as well as the government and people of Abia State, on the passing of Eze Bernard Enweremadu, Eze Ukwu of Ngwa Ukwu, the traditional ruler of the ancient Ngwa dynasty.

Eze Bernard Enweremadu was a Nigerian first-class traditional ruler. He ruled for 44 years after assuming the traditional stool of Ezeukwu of Ngwa Ukwu at the age of 33. He was the Deputy Chairman of the Council of Traditional Rulers in the old Imo State and later the Chairman of Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers.

In a statement issued by the MPA at Elu Ohafia, the group described the late traditional ruler as an embodiment of the culture and tradition of his people and who devoted his reign to the development of Ngwa Ukwu and Abia State in general.

“As Ohafia think tank, we feel the loss of Eze Enweremadu at a time we are building bridges across communities to strengthen governance in Abia State,’’ Architect Lucas Eme Onuh, President of the MPA said.

“”We take solace in the fact that Ngwaland and Ohafia have come a long way and we believe the dictums of fairness and equity which Eze Enweremadu stood for, will endure in our relationships to the ultimate good of our dear state,’’ he said in the statement signed by the organisation’s Director of Publicity, Chief Emele Onu.

MPA, it will be recalled is committed to good governance in Abia State. The body is campaigning for the emergence of a Governor of Ohafia extraction to lead Abia State in 2023, a move that is already enjoying widespread support across the state. The MPA Board of Trustees is headed by Nigeria’s former finance minister, Dr Kalu Idika Kalu.
