Social Crusader and President of One Love Foundation, Chief Patrick Osagie Eholor has berated the Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola over the state of bad roads in Nigeria.
Eholor in a video chat said Fashola, Rotimi Amaechi and Festus Kayamo must apologise to Nigerians for lying and deceiving them while looking for power at all cost without solving the numerous challenges confronting Nigeria after APC took over power from PDP.
He particularly condemned the state of federal roads across the nation describing it as unfortunate and sad.
“The sorry state of our country especially federal roads is quite unfortunate. I have missed my flight and I decided to drive through theroad. We’ve been along Abuja/ Lokoja road for more than seven hours, we’ve experienced more than 85 broken trailers and vehicles. It is a sorry state I for the president of this country, Muhammadu Buhari; it is a sorry state for Fashola who had boasted that any responsible government will have electricity fixed in 6 months. It is a shame that our president doesn’t apply this road, it is also a shame that Fashola doesn’t apply his road; It is a shame that those contractors that have been given money to do this road; for those who have died in this road their blood is in their hands because Nigeria has more than what we are getting. We deserve more than we are getting! It is very unfortunate. I cry for my beloved country.”
Eholor, also lamented the state of the nation. He described the dividend of democracy in Nigeria as comprehensively abysmal and called the for referendum for Nigerians to decide what they want.
“The state of our nation is worrisome; it is not the brutality from SARS it is the road, If it is not the road, it is lack of electricity;if it’s not that, there’s no water to drink; if it’s not that, there’s this issue of lack of infrastructure, if it’s not that, there’s no hospital, if it is not that there’s no security. What are the governors doing if they cannot fix these things I mentioned? None of them seems to be existing in my present. I hope we fight this together. If we have to go separate ways in this country let it be because we cannot continue to live like this by giving power to people who doesn’t understand the meaning of power. This is really serious. It is a matter of national debate. I am not sure now if I am going to miss my flight. I’ve lost my voice, I’ve lost my temper, I’ve lost my thought. God help Nigeria.” He said.
