Social Crusader and President of One Love Foundation, Chief Patrick Osagie Eholor, has gone to court to challenge the imbroglio surrounding Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Neghoghase Obaseki’s university certificate.
Eholor, who is popularly known as Ultimate Equals, is in court to compel the authorities of the University of Ibadan to furnish him with the necessary information regarding the admission and graduation of Governor Obaseki from the institution.
The case, suit number B/20305/2020, was brought through his counsel, T. A. Akahomen Esq via an originating summons pursuant to the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act 2011 to the High Court of Justice, Edo State.
The Applicant(Chief Eholor) is seeking the following reliefs: a declaration that the compulsory disclosure of the information applied for by the Applicant from the Respondent(University of Ibadan) to wit: (1)information relating to the admission, schooling and graduation of Mr. Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki is governed by the FOI Act 2011.(2)an order that the Respondent must furnish the Applicant with the following information:(i)the date of admission of Mr. Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki into the University of Ibadan(ii) the course of study and the certificate issued(iii)details of the relevant subjects passed that qualified him to study at the university(iv) and for such further other information relating to his period as a student of the university.
