Following the order by the Leader of Indigenous People of Biafra ( IPOB) Maazi Nnamdi Kanu , to arrest the Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu over the brutal killings of #EndSars protesters in Aba , Ikpeazu was on Thursday afternoon reportedly sighted running away from Ohafia to Igbere, countryhome of the Senate Chief Whip, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu
Abia local media has reported yesterday about Ikpeazu’s dissapareance from Aba Government Lodge. He was later found at Ohafia , home of one of his aide, Hon. Ukpai Agwu . On hearing that the IPOB members who were on executive order from their leader to capture him (Ikpeazu) was on their way to Agwu’s home in Ohafia, Ikpeazu immediately changed his route to Igbere’s Camp Neya , private residence of Senator Kalu.
A member of the IPOB, Uchechukwu Okorie who spoke to our correspondent revealed that they planned to capture Ikpeazu alive in Ohafia, adding that his diversion to Kalu’s house will not stop them .
According to him, “he ran to Igbere to Papa Ukwu’s house because he knows we can’t force ourselves inside . But it will only cost us time . We will wait as long as he stays there. I am even surprised because Ikpeazu has never visited Orji Uzor since he became Governor. So I am not even sure of him getting assses to Kalu’s house. If Igbere reject him , that’s the best for us .”
Sources said there are not less than five Hilux vehicles with Security personnels driving into Igbere. Meanwhile, a call to the Manager of Senator Kalu’s Camp Neya, Mrs Goodness Orji revealed that Ikpeazu is not yet in Camp Neya . She said she has received several calls concerning Ikpeazu’s arrival but has no instructions to receive Ikpeazu. She also said her Principal is in Abuja and not in Igbere .
A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who did not want his name on print, told our correspondent that Ikpeazu has not spoken to Kalu since he became Governor and would likely not be received when he arrives . According to him , How can the only time Ikpeazu remembered Orji Uzor is because he js running for his life? Orji Kalu made him Vice Chairman of his local government when he was Governor and that was how he saw the light to eventually become governor in 2015. But since he became Governor he has avoided him and never even gave him any compliment as a former governor. So he should sort himself out and clear himself with the IPOB members. Orji Kalu may not be in support of the activities of IPOB because he believes in the unity of Nigeria but the IPOB members have so much respect for him . They love him because of his personality and courage in standing firm for the people” He said
This is the height of mischief and insensitivity anyone can ever think of.
As Nigerians, Abians inclusive, count their losses and think of possible means to peaceful resolutions to the prevalent crisis ravaging the states and nation as a whole, one Peter Eze, a media aide to senator Orji Uzor Kalu, fans the embers of disunity by concorting and spreading falsehood aimed at misleading and pitching the good people of Abia against their governor. Kindly disregard his publication on governor Ikpeazu camping at OUK’s house in Igbere. It is outright falsehood. Recall also that governor Ikpeazu addressed Abians yesterday evening, 6pm to be precise on a state wide broadcast.
