The Member representing Bekwarra/Obudu/Obanliku Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Legor Idagbo has said that there is no winner and no vanquished in the recently held PDP Northern Senatorial District By – Election Primaries.
The member who is also Chairman House Committee on Nigeria Content Development and Monitoring said this after casting his vote at the primary election which was held at the Ogoja Local Government Council headquarters in Ogoja.
Rt. Hon. Legor Idagbo clarified that the Peoples Democratic Party is a family and thus does not see the primaries making one person a winner and the other a looser.
He said the primary election is just a process of determining who represents the Peoples Democratic Party in the By-Election and thus all members, together, are winners and must work to achieve victory for the party.
He commended the chairman and members of the electoral panel as well as observers Independent National Electoral Commission INEC on a job well done. He said their efforts produced good result.
Rt. Hon. Idagbo also appreciated the Governor of the state Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade for providing a level playing field for aspirants in the primary election to compete in a healthy manner.
He called on all aspirants and members of the Peoples Democratic Party to close ranks with the candidate who has emerged and the leadership of the party at all levels to ensure victory for the party in the by-election in October.
