Some members of the People's Democratic Party, PDP, in Abia State on Tuesday stormed the secretariat of the party in Umuahia to protest against what they called alleged moves by the State Chairman of the party, Allwell Asiforo to impose adhoc delegates on them ahead of the party's primaries for the 2023 general elections. A sharp crack has been created in the Senate caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the quest to endorse the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan as the consensus presidential candidate of the parliament. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has disqualified two of the 17 presidential aspirants seeking its ticket to contest the 2023 election. The two disqualified aspirants are to forfeit the N40 million each of them paid for the expression of interest and nomination forms. The chairman of the presidential screening committee, Senator David Mark, announced the disqualification of the two aspirants on Friday evening.
