Supporters of Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi have commenced their rallies in major cities in the country. The LP candidate supporters known as ‘Obidients’ converged at strategic places in Lagos, Kaduna, Abia, Edo, amongst other states in Nigeria. The rallies coincided with Nigeria’s 62nd Independence Day Anniversary being marked on Saturday. The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress Abdullahi Adamu has accused the party’s presidential candidate Bola Tinubu of appointing members of the Presidential Campaign Council without the approval of APC National Working Committee. Tinubu had on Friday unveiled a 422-man committee comprising political heavyweights and other notable members of the party to pilot the various sub-committees of the campaign council. The results of a survey conducted for Bloomberg News have shown that 72 per cent of its respondents will vote for former Anambra state governor Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) at the 2023 general elections in February. On Wednesday, the survey from San Francisco-based Premise Data Corp placed Mr Obi in the lead. “Of the 92 per cent of participants who said they’ve decided how to vote, 72 per cent named Obi as their first choice.
