The All Progressives Congress, APC, says it plans to begin sales of forms for its congresses on July 1. Al-Mustapha Medaner, APC director of organisation, said this in a statement on Sunday in Abuja. Mr Medaner said the decision followed the approval of the Gov. Mai Mala Buni-led APC Caretaker and Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee, CECPC, of the party. The Presidency has confirmed the defection of the Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle, from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress. This is according to a Facebook post by Presidential aide, Bashir Ahmad, on Sunday. “So Zamfara is back home, Welcome Matawalle,” the post read. A former Senator, Andy Uba, has been declared winner of the Anambra governorship primary of the All Progressives Congress held Saturday. Despite controversy surrounding the primary, officials said Mr Uba defeated 13 other aspirants to emerge the party’s governorship candidate in the coming November 6 election. The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige has called for the postponement of the governorship primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State. One of the Anambra Governorship Aspirants of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Emeka Etiaba has withdrawn from the race few hours to the party’s primaries. Addressing the press, the aspirant accused the party of bringing in what he described as unidentified statutory delegates through the back door. Etiaba also says that he is less concerned over whatever that happens afterwards.
