The Supreme Court will soon fix a date to hear the motion filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) demanding the sack of Imo Governor, Hope Uzodinma. The party, through its lawyer, Phillips Umeadi filed additional processes in relation to the motion filed in 2020. Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has accused some members of the Rivers State House of Assembly of plotting against him. The Governor made the claims during the commissioning of three reconstructed roads in Old GRA, Port Harcourt. The Deputy Governor of Zamfara State, Mahdi Aliyu, on Wednesday, said he chose to remain in the People Democratic Party (PDP) to honour the mandate given to the party by the Supreme Court. The Senate President Ahmad Lawan has confirmed the defection of three senators from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Senator Peter Nwaoboshi of Delta North who had earlier announced his defection to the APC is among the new lawmakers in the ranks of the ruling party.
