North-West Adopts Ex-Katsina Gov Shema As Consensus Candidate For PDP Chair Former Katsina State Governor Ibrahim Shehu Shema has emerged as the North-West’s consensus Candidate for the National Chairman of the People’ Democratic Party (PDP). Shema’s candidacy was endorsed during the just-concluded North-West Expanded Caucus meeting of PDP chieftains on Wednesday. Ahead of Anambra State Governorship election, the Deputy Governor of the State, Dr. Nkem Okeke has officially defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress. President Muhammadu Buhari, on Wednesday received APC Caretaker Committee Chairman and Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, Anambra Deputy Governor Dr. Nkem Okeke and Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma. Dr. Okeke is now a member of the ruling Party after dumping his party, the All Progressives Grand Alliance. Dr. Okeke first served as Anambra State Commissioner for Economic Planning, and again as Anambra State Commissioner for Works and Transport in the administration of Governor Peter Obi.
