Two lawmakers in the Anambra State House of Assembly have defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). The lawmakers, Mr. Douglas Egbuna, (Onitsha North l Constituency), and Mr. Onyebuchi Offor (Ekwusigo Constituency), announced their defection at plenary in Awka, on Wednesday, NAN reports. A top politician in Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Honourable Tanko Bitrus Kura, is dead. Hon. Kura from Jikowyi, Abuja was once a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairmanship flagbearer in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC). He is said to have passed on on Wednesday afternoon. The deceased was former PDP FCT Capacity Secretary, and ex-officio at national level. His family is yet to speak on his death though.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has urged former President Goodluck Jonathan to remain in the Peoples Democratic Party and not join the All Progressives Congress.
