Anambra Governorship Candidates Sign Peace Accord Candidates in the imminent Anambra governorship election on Thursday signed a peace accord in Awka, the state captial. The election is slated for Saturday. Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mahmood Yakubu, was present at the ceremony, which was facilitated by the National Peace Committee. Appeal Court okays PDP convention, dismisses Secondus’ suit

The Court of Appeal, Port Harcourt Division, has dismissed a suit by the suspended national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, aimed at stopping the party’s convention scheduled to hold on Saturday and Sunday. The court gave the PDP leave to proceed with the elective national convention as scheduled.
