Governor Alex Otti Fires Chief Press Secretary, Kazie Uko, Appoints Ukoho Kalu As Replacement.   Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has fired his Chief Press Secretary, Kazie Uko. This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Information, Okey Kanu, to journalists after the State Executive Council meeting chaired by the governor on Wednesday. There were sporadic gunshots at the Secretariat of Port Harcourt City Council, on Tuesday, as the police scared away scores of youths who stormed the secretariat to protest. The youths said they were at the secretariat to carry out a peaceful demonstration against the immediate past local government council chairmen whom they claimed have refused to vacate office after expiration of their tenure. Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has directed the administrative heads of local governments to take charge of the councils and to await further directives following the expiration of the tenure of the elected council chairpersons and councillors on Monday. “Heads of local governments administration are hereby directed to immediately take charge of the councils and await further directives,” the governor said in a broadcast on Tuesday morning.
