A 45-year-old Nigerian man, Ekwegbalu James Nzube, has been sentenced to death by a court in the southern Tay Ninh Province, Vietnam, for trafficking nearly four kilograms of methamphetamine from Cambodia. Nzube, who was convicted on Tuesday, March 2, said he got acquainted with another Nigerian, Jone, in China in 2014, and the latter had hired him to transport drugs from Cambodia to Vietnam. A housewife, Maryam Muhammad, on Wednesday, prayed a Shari’a Court sitting in Magajin Gari, Kaduna to dissolve her 20-year-old marriage to her husband, Abdulhamid Yakubu. The complainant, a resident of Kontagora road in Kaduna metropolis, told the court that her husband had abandoned her sexually for almost 11 years. “He doesn’t take care of me, even when I was sick; I’m tired I want divorce,” she told the court. A pastor, Chris McDouglas Omosokpea of Peculiar Generation Assembly Church, Oshodi, Lagos, who is facing a charge for the rape of his member’s teen daughter has allegedly sold his church building and fled to an unknown place to establish another church.
