Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, have arrested 50 arms-bearing herdsmen, THE WHISPERER has learned. “We arrested 50 illegally armed herdsmen and realised that some of them are into cattle rustling and kidnapping,’’ Commandant-General of the NSCDC, Dr Ahmed Audi, said on Wednesday in Abuja. A man identified as Ahmed Saka, has set ablaze the room of his ex-lover, Mutiat Oladele, leading to her death and her two children in Ibadan, Oyo State. According to reports the incident occurred at Shogoye, Idi-Arere area of Ibadan. Mr Saka had allegedly threatened to end his life and that of Ms Mutiat for ending their relationship and later carried out the act on Wednesday night. Fear continues to pervade the atmosphere in Imo State as gunmen in the early hours of Thursday attacked the Mbieri Divisional Police Headquarters situated in the Mbaitoli Local Government Area of the state. A member of the House of Representatives, Haruna Maitala, is dead. He died in a road accident along Bade-Gitata road Friday night on his way to Jos.
