Unknown gunmen have killed Solomon Adebayo, Kogi State Commissioner for Pensions. He was  reportedly killed while travelling to Kabba area from Ilorin on Saturday evening. Kogi Police Spokesman, William Ayah said the assailants opened fire on Mr Adebayo’s vehicle along the road, killing him on the spot while severely wounding his driver. Yoruba Nation agitators clashed with men of the Ogun state police command on Saturday after 11 of the agitators were arrested for defying the police ban on the mass rally in Abeokuta. The group had organised the rally to push for a separate nation called Oduduwa Republic, mainly by people of the Southwest geo-political zone which is predominantly Yorubas. In what seems to be a coordinated attacks on security operatives in the south-east and south-south geo-political zones, two police officers were again killed on Saturday by some unknown gunmen who attacked a police facility in Ikono Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria’s South-south. It was indeed a black Saturday after a  brakeless truck lost control and ran into a market in Imo on Saturday afternoon, killing at least 20 women. The accident happened at Nkwommiri Market, near Nwangele River in Umuozu community of Imo. Imo governor Hope Uzodimma has attributed the spate of attacks in the state to the handiwork of those he described as disgruntled politicians who are afraid of his achievements in the state.
