JUST IN: Shekarau Arrested By Police In Abuja

The police have arrested and arraigned a trader, Abba Shekarau, in an Upper Area Court, Mpape, Abuja, over a stolen church drum. The police charged Shekarau, 42, of Dutse Panteka, Abuja, with one count of receiving stolen property. The prosecution counsel, Stanley Nwaforaku, told the court that the complainant, Ajiboye Kayode of Power Deliverance Ministry, Duste Apo, reported the matter. He added that on March 13, Aminu Sani stole a blue drum worth N3,000 and sold it to the defendant. During a police investigation, he said, the said drum was recovered in Mr Shekarau’s possession. THE WHISPERER reported the dead bodies, which included both males and females, were deposited in a steep valley along the double carriageway under construction. A former Military Administrator of Oyo State, Colonel Ahmed Usman, is dead. He was said to have died around 3.00am on Wednesday in Jos, the Plateau State capital, during an illness. It was gathered his remains were being moved to his village, Okura-Lafia, Kogi State for burial according to Muslim rites. Usman was military administrator of Ondo State from August 1994 to August 1996. He governed Oyo from August 1996 to August 1998 during the military regime of General Sani Abacha.
