The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has reacted to the death of Ahmed Gulak, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. IPOB’s spokesman, Emma Powerful, described Gulak’s death as a “professional assassination.” He insisted that members of the group were not responsible for Gulak’s death. Danbaba was kidnapped on Saturday evening while traveling to Jos, Plateau state for an official function. The northern region has commenced the process of ending open grazing and turning cattle rearing into a purely economic venture for the benefit of herders and the region’s economy. Chairman, Northern Governors’ Forum, Simon Lalong, on Saturday, made the disclosure during the 7th Annual Lecture of Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation in Kaduna. Pandemonium broke out on Saturday at Idiroko, Ipokia Local Government Area of Ogun State when some Yoruba nation agitators stormed the area and forcefully opened its land border. They were, however, swiftly repelled by operatives of the Nigeria Customs Service who were manning the border town between Nigeria and the Republic of Benin. The Abia state headquarters of Nigeria Immigration Services is reportedly under attack by yet-to- be identified armed men. The incident which occured Saturday evening threw the state capital into pandemonium as residents scampered for safety heavy exchange of fire between police and the assailants. Some 14 abducted students of Greenfield University in Kaduna State have been released. According to a report by Channels, they were released on Saturday afternoon at a location along the Kaduna- Abuja highway. The Chairman of the Parents Forum, Markus Zarmai and few others were expected to receive the students at the drop-off location. Although, the government and police authorities are yet to confirm the development, the parents of the abducted students said that they paid ransom, in addition to providing eight new motorcycles to the kidnappers before they agreed to release their children.
