The northern region has commenced the process of ending open grazing and turning cattle rearing into a purely economic venture for the benefit of herders and the region’s economy. Pandemonium broke out on Saturday at Idiroko, Ipokia Local Government Area of Ogun State when some Yoruba nation agitators stormed the area and forcefully opened its land border. The Abia state headquarters of Nigeria Immigration Services is reportedly under attack by yet-to- be identified armed men. The incident which occured Saturday evening threw the state capital into pandemonium as residents scampered for safety heavy exchange of fire between police and the assailants. Some 14 abducted students of Greenfield University in Kaduna State have been released. According to a report by Channels, they were released on Saturday afternoon at a location along the Kaduna- Abuja highway. The Chairman of the Parents Forum, Markus Zarmai and few others were expected to receive the students at the drop-off location. Although, the government and police authorities are yet to confirm the development, the parents of the abducted students said that they paid ransom, in addition to providing eight new motorcycles to the kidnappers before they agreed to release their children.
