The Department of State Services (DSS) has confirmed that two allies of Sunday Adeyemo, a self-acclaimed activist popularly called Sunday Igboho, were gunned down during an operation at his Ibadan residence. Igboho had raised an alarm that two persons were killed when security operatives raided his residence in the wee hours of Thursday. Yoruba Nation agitator Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho, has suspended the Yoruba Nation rally scheduled to hold in Lagos on Saturday. He told BBC News Pidgin in an interview monitored by The Nation that the rally in Lagos has been suspended. The suspension came hours after his residence in Soka area of Ibadan, Oyo State capital was attacked by gunmen. At least five persons were reportedly killed during the attack.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has said the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, lived a five-star life across several countries, travelling on chartered private jets, living in luxury apartments and turning out in designer clothes and shoes. The Nigerian Government has accused Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, of masterminding the killing of 60 people in the South-East and South-South regions of the country. The government alleged that Kanu orchestrated the killing of 60 persons and destruction of property in 55 violent attacks across the South-East and South-South Zones within four months.
