Governors of the south-east region have announced the setup of a joint security outfit, codenamed Ebube Agu. The governors announced this in a communique issued after a meeting held in Owerri, the Imo state capital, on Sunday. “The meeting resolved to maintain a joint security vigilante for the South East otherwise known as Ebube Agu,” the communique reads. “The meeting appreciated the formation of South East joint security outfit co. Named Ebubeagu. Headquarters in Enugu to coordinate our vigilante in the South East.”  

He alleged that the two groups were sponsoring a new wave of extremism that could ignite ethnic conflict so as to achieve their aims of dividing the country. A former minister of Commerce and Industry, Dr Mahmud Tukur, has died. He died in the early hours of Friday. He was the first Vice-Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano and also a former director of Cadbury Nigeria. Close family members confirmed the death to THE WHISPERER. Dr Tukur was a close associate of President Muhammadu Buhari.
