Human rights advocacy group, One Love Foundation, has filed a suit against the Nigerian Government before the ECOWAS Court over the recent killing of a Lagos State street hawker at Ojota on Saturday, 3rd July, 2021. The 14-year-old yoghurt hawker, simply identified as Jumoke, was allegedly killed by bullets reportedly fired by a security operative, who was dispersing Yoruba Nation agitators at Ojota, Lagos State. The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Scientific Equipment Development Initiative, SEDI, Enugu State, Prof. Simon Ndubuisi has been reportedly assassinated in Enugu State. DAILY POST learnt that the Federal Government Agency Director was murdered by unkonwn gunmen along the Enugu Port-Harcourt Expressway on Wednesday. The ECOWAS Court has announced July 9 as the date for the hearing of the coalition of applications against the Twitter Ban instituted by the Federal Government of Nigeria. The ECOWAS Court stated this in a virtual court sitting held via zoom on Tuesday. A Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday said that the former Finance Minister, Mrs Kemi Adeosun did not need the National Youth Service Scheme (NYSC) discharge certificate to take up any ministerial appointment or before standing for any elective office in the country. The court held that Adeosun who graduated in a London University in 1989 was already 36 years of age, therefore, exempted from participating in the NYSC scheme. President Muhammadu Buhari has commended the collaboration between security agencies on the operations against Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Igboho.
