WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook are currently down for many users. The three apps – which are all owned by Facebook, and run on shared infrastructure – all completely stopped working shortly before 5pm. Other products that are part of the same family of apps, such as Facebook Workplace, also stopped working. The Muslim Rights Concern, MURIC, has called the attention of the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, to attempts by unidentified staff to turn the port to a Christian crusade camp. The governors of Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa , Delta, Rivers, Cross River and Edo States are members of the South South Governors’ Forum. Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah, head of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to reveal the names of Boko Haram sponsors. The cleric described Nigeria as a broken country decomposing from within while “lives are hemorrhaging by the day”. NECA DG Timothy Olawale slumps, dies in Abuja The Director-General of Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA) Timothy Olawale slumped and died in Abuja on Friday night. The Sun reported that the incident happened while Olawale was in a meeting with the board of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF). The paper said Olawale was on his seat but could not get up and died before help could get to him.
