The Defence Headquarters says the military troops have eliminated 30 of the terrorists who attacked troops of the Guards Brigade in Bwari area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Sunday. Defence Spokesman, Major-General Bernard Onyeuko, made this known at the bi-weekly news conference on military operations on Thursday in Abuja. A Kano High Court on Thursday sentenced Abdulmalik Tanko and Hashimu Isyaku to death by hanging for abducting and killing a five-year old pupil of Noble Kids Academy, Hanifa Abubakar. The Kano State Government had filed five counts of criminal conspiracy, attempt to kidnap, abetment, kidnapping and concealing dead body against Tanko, Hashimu Isyaku, 37, and Fatima Musa, 26, on February 14. Augustine Umahi has declined his appointment as the secretary of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC). President Muhammadu Buhari had on Wednesday approved the appointment of three people into three government agencies as executive officers. The Federal High Court in Abuja has granted the suspended Accountant General of the Federation, Idris Ahmed and his co-defendants bail upon terms and condition given by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
