Men of the Ondo State security network agency, the Amotekun Corps, have apprehended over 150 suspected invaders of northern extraction in Akure, the state capital. The persons were intercepted around 6:30 am on Thursday, along the Akure/Ado-Ekiti Highway during a stop and search operation by the corps. The drivers of the two trucks conveying the invaders claimed they are coming from Abuja, Kano, Katsina, and Jigawa states to Ondo State.   A former Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Tafa Balogun, is dead. Family sources confirmed his death to Daily Trust on Thursday. Details of his passing were however withheld. Balogun was born on August 8, 1947, at Ila-Orangun in Osun State and was named the 21st Inspector-General of Police on March 6, 2002. On April 4, 2005, Balogun was arraigned at the Federal High Court, Abuja for stealing and laundering of over $100million in his three years as Inspector General of Police from the Police treasury.
