Men of the Ondo State security network agency, the Amotekun Corps, have apprehended over 150 suspected invaders of northern extraction in Akure, the state capital. The persons were intercepted around 6:30 am on Thursday, along the Akure/Ado-Ekiti Highway during a stop and search operation by the corps. The drivers of the two trucks conveying the invaders claimed they are coming from Abuja, Kano, Katsina, and Jigawa states to Ondo State.   A former Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Tafa Balogun, is dead. Family sources confirmed his death to Daily Trust on Thursday. Details of his passing were however withheld. Balogun was born on August 8, 1947, at Ila-Orangun in Osun State and was named the 21st Inspector-General of Police on March 6, 2002. On April 4, 2005, Balogun was arraigned at the Federal High Court, Abuja for stealing and laundering of over $100million in his three years as Inspector General of Police from the Police treasury. In order to address the insecurity in Benue State, Governor Samuel Ortom has unveiled the state security outfit known as Community Volunteer Guards. The governor unveiled the security outfit during the passing out parade held at IBB Square, Makurdi, the state capital. The Central Criminal Court in the United Kingdom has adjourned the alleged organ harvesting case involving Senator Ike Ekweremadu and his wife. Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike has invited his Lagos counterpart, Babajide Sanwo-Olu to inaugurate the newly completed Orochiri-Worukwo (Waterline Junction) flyover in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
