President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Ahmed Halilu as the managing director of Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Company, NSPMC Plc. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused former Borno State governor and the vice presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Kashim Shettima, of sabotaging former President, Goodluck Jonathan's efforts to curb the Boko Haram in Borno, which led to the infamous abduction of over 270 Chibok schoolgirls in 2014. Operatives of the Benin Zonal Command of the EFCC have arrested 17 suspected internet fraudsters. They were arrested at their hideout in Benin City, Edo State following actionable intelligence received by the Commisison The suspects are Arebu Julius, Ebiechuwa Victory Ovie, John Uwague, Edward Asuelimhen, Onyeka Sunday, Omorefe Osazee, Kelvin Emmanuel, Osamuliamen Maxwell, Osrmudiamen Aganjele, Godday Osaretin and Osayande Osariemen. Others are Destiny Enobokhare, Daniel Collins, Collins Edobor, Chukwuemeka Johnson, Omofuma Godpower and Progress Edoagu. Items recovered from them at the point of arrest include phones and laptops and seven vehicles of different brands.

Abike Dabiri, CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), said the government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) would deny entry visas to Nigerians younger than the age of 40.
