Organisers of a rally in support of the Labour Party’s Presidential Candidate in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, were on Saturday tear-gassed by the police in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital, in South-East Nigeria. The spokesperson for the Atiku presidential campaign, Charles Aniagwu on Friday said the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar is already gathering names of his cabinet members. Barely hours after he met with the Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan yesterday held closed-door meetings with former military President General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida IBB and former Head of State General Abdulsalami Abubakar. A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to accept and publish the name of Godswill Akpabio as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Akwa Ibom North/West senatorial district in 2023.
