With the completion of the Second Niger Bridge, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo has forgiven President Muhammadu Buhari over his inability to fulfill his 2015 electoral promises to the Igbos. Ohanaeze, however, urged Buhari’s government to rename the Second Niger Bridge after Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu. President Muhammadu Buhari is attending the Nigeria Excellence Award in Public Service (NEAPS) where awards would be conferred on 43 distinguished individuals, including former President Goodluck Jonathan. Tunde Mark, first son of former Senate President, Senator David Mark, is dead. According to Daily Sun, a family source said that Tunde died in the early hours of Friday in London, the United Kingdom. Tunde is said to have suffered from cancer and died at the age of 51 years. President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed a replacement for Effiong Akwa, who has just been sacked as the interim administrator of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). Emmanuel Audu-Ohwavborua, a director in the Delta State office of the NDDC, has been asked to take over the running of the commission, pending the setting up a new management team and a governing board, according to a letter from the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Umana Umana.
