A building housing the Assemblies of God Church in Ungwan Gaida community, near Kurmin Kaso, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, has been set ablaze by armed bandits. At least eight persons were killed in the attacks while several houses were torched. Four persons have died while three others sustained varying degrees of injuries on Tuesday when oxyacetylene gas exploded at the Conference Hotel, in Abeokuta, Ogun State. The palatial hotel located near the State Secretariat at Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, is owned by former Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel. It was gathered that the incident occurred during routine maintenance of the Automatic Revolving Door at the entrance of the hotel’s reception. Gunmen have abducted a judge at a Sharia Court in Bauren Zakat village in Safana Local Government Area of Katsina State. According to Daily Trust, the attackers broke into the court around 3pm on Tuesday and abducted the judge identified as Alhaji Husaini Sama’ila. Borno state - A fire outbreak has occurred at the Maiduguri Government House, Borno on Tuesday afternoon. According to a report by Sun, the fire started at about 3 pm at one of the powerhouses where generators providing electricity for the entire Government House was situated. Some personnel said the fire started from the generator which is about 400 metres to Governor Babagana Zulum’s office, shortly after a technical staff member refilled its tank with petrol. No fewer than six vehicles were razed when hoodlums attacked the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Enugu State. The attack which occurred late on Sunday night is the third attack on the Commission's facility in the state. A statement issued on Monday by the National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, described the attack as unfortunate.
