Many persons have sustained different degrees of injury after an explosion rocked parts of Mile 3 market in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital. It was gathered that the explosion occurred at the dry fish section of the market around 6.20am when traders were bringing in their goods and others were opening for business. A newly completed office of the Independent National Electoral Commission has been set ablaze at Okwudor community in Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State. INEC said that the arson attack took place around 11:30 am on Sunday. It was learnt that the burnt office was commissioned shortly before the 2019 General Elections. Bandits have kidnapped about 200 students of Islamiyya School at Tegina in Rafi Local Government Area of Niger State. One person was shot dead while another was critically injured during the operation. The bandits struck at about 4:30pm on Sunday, Channels TV reports. A resident, Zayyad Mohammed, said the Salihu Tanko Islamiyya School was built by a retired Immigrations officer. In February, bandits abducted staff members and students of Government Science College, Kagara. They were released about 10 days later after ransom payment.

A Fulani settlement near the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja has been demolished by the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) Joint Task Force (JTF). The development was disclosed by Ikharo Attah, Chairman, FCT Ministerial Committee on City Sanitation, on Sunday in Abuja. He said the Ruga settlement contravenes sanitation regulations. Men of the Lagos State Fire Service are currently battling to put out inferno which broke out on Sunday morning at spare parts sales line, Alapeju section of Ladipo  Spare Parts Market, Mushin, Lagos. At least five soldiers are said to have been shot dead along Wetheral Road Owerri in Imo State as unknown gunmen attacked the area. The incident happened in the late hours of Friday. There was a protest in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State after a trailer crushed four persons in the First Gate-Lagos State Polytechnic axis of the Ikorodu road. It was learnt that one person was also injured in the trailer accident. The protesters, which included transporters on the road, set up a born fire and blocked the road.
